In the stillness of winter, the earth is resting. The earth is getting ready for the new life that is yet to come. The flowers and trees will bloom, plants will grow to yield us food. The earth will wake up from its rest, and give us new life. It has a job to feed us, and give us air to breathe.
We can learn to do the same as the earth, and rest. Listen to its peacefulness in the dead of winter. The earth knows best. Our souls, mind, and body all need rest, for we are at our best when we are well rested. We do not have to be constantly productive, this will wear us out. Life has something great for us to accomplish, but we are at our best when after we rest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus yoke is easy and his burden is light. Don’t put expectations on yourself that God doesn’t have for you. Do not let other peoples expectations define you.
Do not try to be a people pleaser, or worry about what other people think. Usually people are thinking about themselves, and how they look to others.
Do not worry about things, it is not productive. Do not sit there and worry, rather come up with solutions to the problems that you are worrying about.
Remember there is a lot of things that we worry about, that never even happen.
