After I had my second daughter, I developed shingles. I was recovering from a C-section, I guess my immune system was compromised. I was only 26.
The shingles rash looks like a scar. For some reason I just though it was a spider bite. It went from my lower back, to my side, and towards my belly. Shingles causes horrible nerve pain. I took antibiotics to get rid of it. It takes about two weeks to get rid of the shingles rash.
If you have had chicken pox you will probably get shingles. One in three people that have had chicken pox will get shingles. You are at risk if you are older, under stress, or if your immune system is compromised.
There is a vaccine for people over 60 years old.
Now a days there is a chicken pox vaccine. My kids do not have to suffer and have shingles or chicken pox like I have.
