When I was 11 years old, I decided to cross a busy intersection, right before it turned green. I was hit by a small truck. I was pinned under the truck wheel, the wheel was on my knee. I was rushed to the hospital for knee surgery. I was not hurt bad, I just had stitches.
My body was in shock, and I was not in any pain. It didn’t even hurt that bad. It is amazing how our bodies can block out pain, and trauma. The truck wasn’t going fast, and I cannot remember when he stopped driving.
Kids must be extremely resilient, because I took this easy. I was a tough kid. I wasn’t traumatized by it either.
I have a big scar on my knee today, and my knee is not in any pain.
I remember when I was under the truck, my memories saw angels above me, this could be a false memory, because memories are not accurate, but I know God was watching me and protecting me. I had a lot more to accomplish on this earth.
While I was in the hospital, the Nurses were so nice to me. This inspired me to be a Nurse, but I am a caregiver. I have a purpose, somebody has got to be a caregiver.
