Thankful Thursday

I’m thankful for my health. I am thankful for the advances of science, and medicine.
I remember when I had influenza A, which turned into bronchitis, which turned into pneumonia. I was sick for the month of March, April, and May. I took steroids, and antibiotics, for a month. Not to mention, I have asthma.
I had to work with pneumonia. It was horrific. I would cough, and cough. I couldn’t breathe, but I took my breathing treatment, and inhalers.
My pneumonia finally cleared up with the antibiotic, levaquin.
I could breathe again, and live life normally.
I remember when I was on, a lot of my ancestors died of pneumonia, around 100 years ago, before antibiotics.
I haven’t been sick since then. I am enjoy life, swimming, working out, spending time with my kids, hitting the gym, jogging. Nothing is getting in the way.
My doctor also gave me a pneumonia vaccine. It protects against 30 strains of pneumonia, or if I get pneumonia, maybe I won’t have it as bad.
Cheers to being healthy, and enjoying life! <3
If you think you have pneumonia, get to the doctor and ask for a chest x-ray, and get those antibiotics. Sleep it off. Do deep breathing exercises. Breathe in steam.

  1. Sounds like my summer. It started out with a cold turned flu, then bronchitis, then a sinus infection. Just as that was clearing up I broke my ankle and sprained my foot. 7 weeks into that I got strep throat. OMG, what is going on? I’ve never been sick like this before all at once. Glad you’re feeling better and are back to normal!
